Supporting Local Myrtle Beach Businesses

In these difficult economic times, keeping money in the local Myrtle Beach economy is perhaps more important than ever. In conjunction with the November 26th National Small Business Saturday, The Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce has initiated its own shop local program. According to the Chamber of Commerce, $68 of every $100 spent in a local store stays in the local community, which is approximately two times more than if it was spent in a national store. Local small businesses contribute to employment, local tax dollars, and often sponsor local events.

The Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce’s website, Shop Our Members, offers coupons to more than 50 local stores for dining, shopping, entertainment, and more. As an additional incentive to support local businesses, from November 1 – December 19 you can bring in $150.00 worth of receipts from local businesses and you will be entered into a drawing for a $250.00 gift card.
